Named after the Cooper River, which flows into Charleston’s historic harbor, the hotel is the first of its kind on the peninsula, bringing direct waterfront access to guests. Developed by Lowe, The Cooper blends Charleston’s architectural heritage with contemporary elements, with interiors crafted to reflect the city’s coastal setting.

The Cooper will feature a rooftop infinity pool, a 7,000 square-foot full-service spa and fitness center, and 12,000 square feet of boutique retail space. The property’s private marina will offer docking facilities for guests arriving by water, with slips available for a wide range of vessel sizes. Hop on one of the hotel’s own collection of vessels for an on-the-water experience, allowing guests a convenient way to explore the waterways of Charleston.

Dining options at The Cooper will range from casual to upscale, with a waterfront café, a rooftop lounge, a relaxed all-day outlet, and a signature seafood restaurant. Each dining venue will showcase ingredients sourced from local farms and fisheries, incorporating flavors and cooking techniques rooted in Charleston’s coastal traditions. The menus will draw inspiration from the region’s seafood, seasonal produce, and classic Southern dishes, reflecting the city’s rich culinary heritage.

Designed with both visitors and locals in mind, The Cooper will feature interiors that blend traditional and modern aesthetics. The design of the lobby and guest rooms will feature bespoke furnishings, artwork inspired by Charleston’s culture, and expansive floor-to-ceiling windows framing views of the harbor. The hotel aims to provide a seamless balance between Charleston’s historic charm and its evolving waterfront landscape.
