Firefly has officially opened its debut championship golf course and short course over Labor Day weekend, both marking Andrew Green's first original designs after a career spent restoring other architects' work.

The 700-acre community 30 minutes south of Nashville debuted an 18-hole championship course stretching from 4,860 to more than 7,300 yards alongside a nine-hole short course with holes running 70 to 210 yards, giving the acclaimed restoration architect his first from-scratch canvas.

Green built the championship layout to follow the land rather than reshape it. The routing is walking-friendly, the greens are contour-rich, and the emphasis sits on strategic angles and shot-making over raw length, playable for a scratch golfer and a beginner on the same afternoon. "Firefly represents the opportunity every architect hopes for, the freedom to study a remarkable piece of land and let its character guide the golf," Green said. "Our goal was to create a course that feels discovered rather than imposed."

The short course extends that same philosophy into a faster format, built for scoring shots and quick rounds rather than a full eighteen. Around both courses, the golf campus adds a practice field, three short-game greens, an 18,000-square-foot putting green, and a teaching facility running TrackMan technology, two indoor-outdoor hitting bays, and a SAM putting lab.

The real estate is moving at the same pace as the golf. Firefly has sold nearly 150 homesites since 2025, and fewer than 30 remain across its first two phases, a mix of golf-frontage, creekside and green-space lots priced from $700,000 to more than $2 million, tied together by a planned trail network. "Opening Firefly's golf courses over this Labor Day weekend is a defining moment for our members and the culmination of years of vision, collaboration and exacting work," said Mark Enderle, partner at developer Storied Development, pointing to more than 4,000 sales inquiries converting into over 350 property tours.

Construction on the first three club amenities, Fieldhouse, Golf Shop and Outpost, is ahead of schedule and still on track for a spring 2027 opening, designed by SWABACK. The fuller build-out planned beyond golf runs to a clubhouse, fitness center, family club, adult and family pools, a bowling alley, golf simulators, a multisport court, a music hall, a STEAM and STEM learning center, and a racquet club with tennis, padel and indoor pickleball. Home construction is expected to begin in 2027.
