Nearly six decades after first opening on Harbour Island, Coral Sands Inn & Cottages has completed a comprehensive property wide renovation following its acquisition in 2024 by AJ Capital Partners. The transformation refreshes the hotel for a new generation while preserving the charm, craftsmanship, and artistry that have defined Coral Sands for nearly 60 years.

The redesign spans all 41 keys across the property, encompassing The Inn, garden cottages, sea cottages, and standalone beachside residences. Guest accommodations embrace bright Bahamian color, patterned textiles, and woven finishes across thoughtfully composed, residential-style interiors.
New amenity additions include sports courts for padel, pickleball, tennis, and basketball, alongside an open-air fitness facility, poolside cabanas, and a Beach Shack offering casual cocktails and light bites. The project also introduced two dining concepts, refreshed public spaces, and a curated on-site gift shop, expanding the ways guests experience the property beyond the beach.
Design across the resort was led by AJ Capital Partners’ in-house team. Public areas and dining spaces feature island-inspired ceiling murals, columns clad with thousands of hand-applied shells, custom wallpaper illustrated with local flora and fauna, and site-specific artwork reflecting Bahamian culture. These elements extend throughout the property, reinforcing a consistent design language across both shared spaces and private accommodations.
While the primary redesign is now complete, the next phase is underway. A newly constructed spa is currently in development and is expected to open later this year, marking the next milestone in the property’s multi-year transformation.

The property was recently recognized on Condé Nast Traveler’s Gold List as one of the best hotels in the Caribbean, signaling its continued relevance as it enters its next chapter on Harbour Island.
