CityPlace is getting a new fitness hotspot as pickleball continues to sweep the nation. Starting in early November, New York-based CityPickle will bring 13 outdoor courts to the heart of West Palm Beach. The modern courts will be set up on a vacant where soon the two high-rise office towers, 10 and 15 CityPlace will rise, which is about 1 million square feet. While construction on the towers is still underway, the space is being repurposed for temporary fitness and retail activities.
CityPickle’s first Florida location will be situated on part of this empty lot, while another section will host the Bal Harbour Shops Access Pop-Up Tour—a luxury retail experience featuring brands such as Dolce & Gabbana, Tiffany, and Balmain. Spanning 17,000 square feet and complete with a retractable canopy, the pop-up will run for eight weeks starting in mid-November.
Pickleball, a paddle sport combining elements of tennis, ping-pong, and badminton, is rapidly growing in popularity across the U.S. CityPickle’s new courts will be open daily from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., with players able to book reservations up to a week in advance on the company’s website or app. For $60 to $80 an hour, depending on peak times, players can rent a court, while open play costs $35 for two hours. The facility will also offer a range of programming, including clinics for $60, leagues, camps, and private events.
CityPickle, which debuted New York City’s first indoor pickleball court, also operates year-round in Queens and seasonally at Hudson Yards. While its West Palm Beach location will be outdoors, the venue fills a gap in the CityPlace complex, providing a workout facility for residents and office workers alike. Seasonal memberships will be available, offering perks like advanced bookings, free open play, and discounts.
As CityPickle temporarily brings new life to the vacant lot with its pickleball courts, it sets the stage for even greater transformations ahead. The future of CityPlace will be defined by two massive office towers that are currently in the works. One of them, 15 CityPlace, designed by the renowned firm Arquitectonica, is inspired by trophy buildings in major financial centers around the world.
This bold new business hub will offer sweeping views of the Atlantic Ocean, making a striking addition to the West Palm Beach skyline. Nearby, 10 CityPlace, designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox, will become an iconic landmark in its own right, drawing influence from the grand towers that frame city squares in downtown areas. Both towers, with their modern architectural statements, will anchor the heart of CityPlace and reshape the area’s future as a vibrant, upscale destination.
