Hilton debuts its first Conrad Hotel in Germany

Hilton has opened Conrad Hamburg, marking the brand’s debut in Germany and a new chapter for one of the city’s most storied buildings. Set within the Levantehaus, a 1912 Art Nouveau landmark designed by Franz Bach and Carl Bensel, the 283-room hotel reintroduces a piece of Hamburg’s architectural heritage through a contemporary lens following a comprehensive redesign by 1508 London.

Across the second to eighth floors, interiors draw inspiration from Hamburg’s maritime spirit and industrial past, with deep blues, warm greys, and rich copper tones. Many of the rooms feature floor-to-ceiling windows that frame views of the city’s evolving skyline. Among the accommodations are 28 studios with kitchenettes and 29 suites offering additional space and designed for longer stays.

Reflecting the Levantehaus’ artistic legacy, Conrad Hamburg features a curated collection of works by German contemporary artists, including striking installations such as Ada Isensee’s colored leaded glass ceiling, visible from every floor and serving as a vibrant centerpiece that unites the hotel’s spaces.

The hotel’s signature restaurant, GRETA OTO, offers a Latin American dining experience that extends to its bar and private dining room, La Mesa. Named after a tropical butterfly, the venue’s atmosphere shifts throughout the day, anchored by crafted cocktails like the GRETA OTO Pisco Sour in the evening.

Guests will soon have access to a 10,700-square-foot wellness area, scheduled to open in November, featuring Hamburg’s longest indoor pool, luxury spa treatments, and a full fitness center. For events, nine light-filled venues and an executive lounge provide adaptable spaces for gatherings ranging from board meetings to receptions for over 200 guests.

Situated along the city’s Art Mile, the hotel connects guests to Hamburg’s cultural and architectural heritage, steps from City Hall, the Alster lakes, and the Elbphilharmonie concert hall. Owned by Ohana Real Estate Investors and managed by Hilton, Conrad Hamburg joins a growing European portfolio that continues to expand the brand’s global presence.
