Hokkaido’s Mount Moiwa, long regarded as one of Niseko’s most pristine landscapes, will soon welcome Aman’s fourth property in Japan. Scheduled to open in 2030 as the country’s first destination wellness retreat, Aman Niseko is conceived as both a seasonal playground and a place of quiet immersion in nature.

The project will encompass 30 suites arranged in a dedicated pavilion, with every accommodation oriented toward mountain views. Central to the retreat is a main pavilion designed as a hub for gathering, housing a living room, two restaurants, a private dining room, bar, whiskey and cigar lounge, library, ski retail area, boutique, and gallery.

Wellness will be a defining element of the property. The Aman Spa and each of the 31 free-standing Aman Residences are set to include an indoor and outdoor onsen, reflecting Niseko’s deep-rooted hot spring traditions. Year-round outdoor activities, from skiing and snowboarding to hiking, cycling, and river rafting, will further anchor the retreat’s connection to its setting.

Architecture was envisioned by the late Kerry Hill, who drew on his long partnership with Aman to create structures that sit lightly within the natural reserve. The design is contemporary in spirit, while weaving in subtle references to the motifs of Hokkaido’s indigenous Ainu people.

The Residences will be customizable across one to three bedrooms, each designed with expansive entertaining areas, terraces, ski rooms, and mezzanine levels. Owners will have full access to Aman’s signature services while enjoying private immersion in the landscape.
With Aman Niseko, the brand extends its Japanese footprint beyond Tokyo, Kyoto, and Ise-Shima, reinforcing its presence in the country with a retreat that blends wellness, nature, and architecture at the highest level.
