Montauk is getting a bold new addition this summer as Mary Lou’s—a standout from Palm Beach’s winter social scene—sets up its sun-soaked sister location at 474 West Lake Drive. Reimagined for the Hamptons crowd, Mary Lou’s Montauk fuses elevated coastal dining, retro glamour, and live entertainment into a transportive summer sanctuary. More than a restaurant or a lounge, it’s an atmosphere—a charismatic hideaway where refined mischief thrives and long dinners turn into late-night dancing.
Spearheaded by Alex Melillo, Joe Cervasio, and Topher Grubb in partnership with NDT Development, the project builds on Mary Lou’s signature ethos: maximalist design, magnetic hospitality, and a mischievous nod to its namesake muse, Mary Lou Curtis. The legendary fashion force—best known for her boutique La Shack and its East Coast clientele including Jackie O. and Betty White—inspired not only the brand’s bold personality but its irreverent elegance. Her guiding motto, “always have a sense of ridiculousness,” remains baked into every detail.

Designed by Jason Volenec, the interiors trade minimalism for mood. Layered with texture and saturated in story, the space channels a surrealist fantasy—part bait shop homage, part dreamlike disco. Colorful patterns clash purposefully, vintage treasures mix with sleek finishes, and an art collection curated from the famed Globe Archives lends cinematic edge to every corner.
At this location, the culinary program get a playful lift—prime cuts with a flair, locally sourced seafood, and cheeky indulgences that toe the line between fine dining and fun. The A5 Wagyu Burger and Altima caviar towers are back by popular demand, now joined by Montauk-specific dishes that pay homage to the area’s seafaring roots. Seasonal and spirited, the drinks are bold but never boastful—designed to complement conversation, not overpower it.
As day fades into night, Mary Lou’s immersive music programming introduces a fresh cadence to Montauk’s summer scene, drawing influence from the electric unpredictability of vintage nightlife.
From its roots in Palm Beach to its new chapter in Montauk, Mary Lou’s continues to evolve while staying true to the vision of the woman who started it all. Stylish, spirited, and just the right amount of absurd—it’s not just a place to go, it’s a place to be.
