Motek accelerates its New York takeover with Greenwich outpost

Motek, Miami’s fast-rising Mediterranean restaurant known for its kosher-style, seed-oil-free menu and sunshine-yellow aesthetic, is stepping deeper into its multi-market expansion with a high-profile New York opening. Motek will take over the former Figaro Café space in Greenwich Village this January—an iconic 184 Bleecker Street address once frequented by cultural legends like Jack Kerouac, Bob Dylan, and Al Pacino.

The 3,900-square-foot corner is being redesigned with Motek’s signature touches, including its yellow-flowered indoor tree and a vintage yellow Fiat on display.

The move comes as Motek accelerates its growth beyond South Florida. After building a loyal following in Miami with locations in Downtown, Aventura, Coral Gables, and the Design District, the brand recently opened a major new outpost in Boca Raton—its first outside Miami-Dade County. That Boca restaurant, designed for roughly 220 guests across indoor and outdoor spaces, signals Motek’s shift toward larger, experience-driven footprints as it becomes a regional lifestyle brand.

With additional openings planned in New York’s Flatiron District and Williamsburg, Motek is now positioning itself as one of the country’s most ambitious Mediterranean concepts—expanding from a local favorite into a multi-city hospitality force.
