Coconut Grove’s dining scene is set for a refined new addition as Gioia Hospitality Group prepares to debut La Sponda at CMC Group’s Vita at Grove Isle, a boutique luxury condominium now nearing completion on its private 20-acre island. Scheduled to open in 2026, the waterfront restaurant will pair seasonal coastal Italian cuisine with curated wines and sweeping Biscayne Bay views, creating a sophisticated yet relaxed destination for lunch, weekend brunch, and dinner.

La Sponda follows the group’s recent launch of Daniel’s Miami in Coral Gables and its MICHELIN Guide-recommended Daniel’s, A Florida Steakhouse in Fort Lauderdale. Led by Gioia founder Thomas Angelo, the concept draws inspiration from the Mediterranean shoreline, with a menu rooted in authenticity and an atmosphere designed for connection.

Internationally acclaimed Martin Brudnizki Design Studio is crafting the interiors, blending vintage European charm, handcrafted materials, and the island’s natural beauty into an inviting, elevated space.

Positioned just above Vita’s private club, La Sponda will serve as the property’s culinary centerpiece, complementing amenities that include resident-only pools, a spa, fitness facilities, tennis courts, and a marina. Vita itself offers 65 ultra-luxury residences, including twelve bi-level penthouses with rooftop pools, all designed by CallisonRTKL and A++ Architecture to maximize panoramic bay views through the building’s signature curved silhouette.

With La Sponda, Gioia Hospitality Group and CMC Group aim to revive Grove Isle’s legacy as a sought-after waterfront destination—melding fine dining, distinctive design, and the exclusivity of one of Miami’s most prized enclaves.
