One of Miami Beach’s most recognizable steakhouses is about to get a bold new look. Papi Steak, the high-energy South of Fifth hotspot from David Grutman’s Groot Hospitality and partner David “Papi” Einhorn, will temporarily close on September 2 for a complete redesign, reopening in November with interiors by Rockwell Group.

The renovation builds on the restaurant’s signature red-and-turquoise palette, reimagined into what the team calls “glamorous tropical luxe.” Guests will arrive through a dramatic red-draped façade and corridor lined with velvet and gold accents, leading into a dining room anchored by a crystal chandelier, deep red banquettes, and shimmering floral wallcoverings by Candice Kaye.

A new private dining space adds even more drama, featuring brass mirrors, drapery, and a gold tropical ceiling meant to evoke a hidden Miami theater.

Since opening in 2019, Papi Steak has become known for its celebrity clientele, celebratory energy, and modern take on the American steakhouse. With its redesign and refreshed menu, the owners say the relaunch will preserve the brand’s iconic identity while offering a more immersive experience for Miami diners and international visitors.
