Rosewood debuts its first alpine resort in the French Alps

Rosewood Hotel Group has officially entered the world of high-altitude hospitality with the opening of Rosewood Courchevel Le Jardin Alpin, marking the brand’s first alpine resort and its second property in mainland France. Now welcoming guests for the winter season, the debut places Rosewood at the heart of Courchevel 1850, within the prestigious Jardin Alpin enclave and directly connected to the vast terrain of Les Trois Vallées, the world’s largest interconnected ski area.

The opening introduces a new chapter for Courchevel, long associated with legacy ski hotels and private chalets, as Rosewood brings its resort vision to one of Europe’s most storied winter destinations. Positioned ski-in, ski-out, the property offers immediate access to the slopes while maintaining the feel of a private mountain residence rather than a traditional hotel.

The resort details 51 rooms and suites, including three signature houses designed for families and larger groups. Each accommodation opens onto seated panoramic terraces with views of the surrounding peaks, reinforcing a connection to the alpine landscape. The houses accommodate up to eight guests each, with optional interconnecting layouts that allow for expansive shared living spaces after a day on the mountain. The largest of the three, the Jardin Alpin Apartment, is a four-bedroom residence complete with a private elevator entrance, cinema room, professional kitchen, curated art collection, and generous indoor and outdoor dining areas overlooking La Saulire's peak.

Interiors were conceived by Paris-based designer Tristan Auer, whose work across the property balances timber and stone with copper detailing, mirrored surfaces, and sculptural elements that reflect light across the chalet’s interiors. That dialogue between material and reflection is shown in a site-specific installation by Icelandic-Danish artist Olafur Eliasson, where crystalline structures suspended within mirrored walls and ceilings create an illusion of infinite, floating geometric forms.

Dining at Rosewood Courchevel Le Jardin Alpin centers on two primary venues with defined roles throughout the day. SALTO serves as the resort’s evening restaurant, offering a menu informed by the cuisine of Northern Italy’s Alpine regions alongside a focused wine program. SALTO Lounge operates during the day with lunch built around mountain-inspired dishes, before transitioning into an après-ski setting with cocktails, an in-house DJ, and fireside seating. In-room dining is available around the clock, with a menu spanning local specialties, international selections, and wellbeing-focused options delivered directly to guest accommodations.

On the slopes, a dedicated Ski Concierge team curates tailored alpine itineraries designed to streamline every aspect of the mountain experience. Beyond equipment handling and instruction, bespoke offerings include First and Last Track access on Courchevel’s runs and private excursions to secluded mountain chalets for Savoyard dinners, complete with private fireworks overlooking the valley.

Wellness is centered around Asaya, Rosewood’s integrative spa concept, making its alpine debut at the resort. Facilities include a 17-meter indoor pool, five treatment rooms, two saunas and steam rooms, a hot tub and cold plunge, and a multi-sensory experience shower. A bespoke children’s cavern is included as part of the spa facilities. Treatments are delivered in partnership with EviDenS de Beauté and Sodashi, with programming tailored specifically for mountain recovery, including post-ski therapies, advanced facials, and restorative practices such as sound baths and reiki. Movement offerings extend outdoors with mountain-view Pilates and guided sessions focused on breathwork and mindful recovery.

The opening of Rosewood Courchevel Le Jardin Alpin expands Rosewood’s presence in France alongside Hôtel de Crillon, A Rosewood Hotel, while positioning the brand within one of Europe’s most competitive winter destinations. More than a seasonal debut, the property establishes Rosewood’s long-term commitment to alpine hospitality, introducing a design-forward, residential approach to Courchevel’s most coveted area.
