Rosewood is officially entering Greece with the upcoming debut of Rosewood Blue Palace, a full-scale transformation of one of Crete’s most iconic waterfront resorts.

Set to open in mid-2026, the reimagined 154-room property rises along Crete’s northeast coastline between Plaka and Elounda, positioned on a hillside overlooking the Gulf of Elounda with direct views toward Spinalonga Island. The resort, owned by Phāea, has undergone a complete redesign led by Athens-based K-Studio, introducing a more refined, residential feel rooted in natural Cretan materials and local craftsmanship.

Accommodations are designed for privacy and connection to the landscape, with 85 rooms featuring private pools and the remainder spanning suites and villas carefully positioned to maximize views. Across the property, guests will find three outdoor pools, a private beach, and six distinct dining and bar concepts, including a beach club and an all-day venue centered around locally sourced ingredients and produce grown on-site. Interiors for the culinary spaces are led by London-based designer Afroditi Krassa.

Wellness anchors the experience, built around the Asaya spa, which integrates hydrotherapy, fitness, and dedicated movement and yoga spaces throughout the resort. The location places guests within walking distance of Plaka’s waterfront tavernas, a short drive from Elounda, and offers direct boat access to Spinalonga Island.

As one of the most anticipated luxury openings in the Mediterranean, Rosewood Blue Palace also marks the brand’s first hotel in Greece, with reservations expected to open 90 days ahead of launch.
