On December 7, the public can anticipate the roll-out of craps, roulette, and sports betting at three South Florida Seminole casinos. This follows a recent announcement by the Seminole Tribe of Florida, confirming their decision to advance with a broadened gaming portfolio. This initiative is in line with the Gaming Compact sanctioned by the Tribe and the State of Florida in 2021.
Marcellus Osceola Jr., Chairman of the Seminole Tribe of Florida, expressed gratitude toward the State of Florida, the U.S. Department of the Interior, and the U.S. Department of Justice for their collective roles in preserving the Compact. He termed the court's decision as a "historic legal victory."
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis conveyed his enthusiasm for the forthcoming launch, emphasizing its prospective impact on job creation, tourism, and state revenue. The Compact had already generated significant financial projections: $2.5 billion guaranteed to Florida in the first five years and an estimated $6 billion through 2030.
Beyond the legal and financial scope, the Seminole Tribe and Seminole Hard Rock have scheduled celebratory events for December to mark the introduction of the new games at their six casino locations.
According to official sources, the schedule for the launch at different venues is as follows:
Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood, Seminole Classic Casino in Hollywood, and Seminole Casino Coconut Creek will introduce the new games on December 7.
Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa is set to follow suit on December 8.
Seminole Casino Immokalee and Seminole Brighton Casino will launch their new offerings on December 11.
Jim Allen, CEO of Seminole Gaming and Chairman of Hard Rock International, highlighted the milestone, stating that the expansion will generate over 1,000 new jobs.
As Florida embarks on this new chapter in gaming, the Seminole Tribe's initiative stands as a notable moment in the state's entertainment landscape.
