A sweeping $350 million transformation is positioning The Abaco Club—the 500-acre private retreat on Great Abaco Island—as the Caribbean’s most ambitious multigenerational escape.

Developed by Southworth—a family-owned club curator since 1991—the club occupies a secluded bayfront expanse on Great Abaco’s western shore. Rolling hills, coastal ridges and dramatic Atlantic cliffs yield sweeping panoramas across two miles of white-sand beach and the tranquil turquoise of Winding Bay, while protected flats of the Sea of Abaco teem with marine life from sea turtles to world-class bonefish.

Central to the club’s ethos is a seamless blend of leisure and adventure: members tackle the Scottish-style links that rank as the # 1 course in The Bahamas, bonefish prime flats just minutes offshore, or dive into the famed “blue holes” that punctuate the island’s interior. On land, the historic settlement of Cherokee, the pastel-hued cottages of Hope Town and a growing calendar of family-focused events reinforce The Abaco Club’s commitment to effortless, inclusive island living

Once defined by its nearly sold-out AvroKO-designed villas at The Cays, the club has now introduced The Green, a collection of turnkey, single-level, three-bedroom golf-front cottages with Restoration Hardware–curated interiors. Priced from $2.925 million and nestled along the 14th green of the award-winning course, these island-colonial homes feature sweeping fairway vistas, open-plan living and full-width porches that blend indoor and outdoor living seamlessly.

This fall, members will discover three headline amenities designed to elevate everyday island life. Along two miles of white-sand shoreline, the Winding Bay Club will debut a resort-style infinity pool, sand-set cocktail bar and an amenity-rich clubhouse complete with cinema, game room and an exclusive adults-only lounge.

Adventure awaits both on and off the fairways. PGA icon Darren Clarke’s El Diablo putting course delivers a headline-worthy twist to golf, while the calm turquoise waters of Winding Bay invite e-foiling sessions. Members can join lobster-hunting excursions for the club’s signature Lobster Fest or explore Abaco’s famed “blue-hole” cave systems—often likened to Mt. Everest-style dives into underground caverns.

The Abaco Club is developed and managed by Southworth, and members enjoy reciprocal privileges across all of Southworth’s award-winning private communities—ensuring that this reimagined Caribbean icon marks the first chapter in a global collection of luxury island retreats.
