The Morea House opens as Autograph Collection's first Cape Town hotel

Marriott International has expanded its Autograph Collection Hotels portfolio with the opening of Morea House, a newly debuted 90-room hotel set directly along the Camps Bay coastline. Marking the brand’s first Autograph Collection property in Cape Town, the hotel joins Marriott’s curated portfolio of independent hotels selected for their individuality, design integrity, and sense of place, while remaining independently owned and operated within the Marriott Bonvoy ecosystem. Framed by the Atlantic Ocean on one side and the Twelve Apostles mountain range on the other, Morea House introduces a design-led addition to one of Cape Town’s most recognizable seaside neighborhoods.

The hotel is set along Camps Bay’s palm-lined promenade, within walking distance of the beach and the area’s concentration of cafés, restaurants, and retail. Its location provides direct access to the coastal strip while remaining a short drive from central Cape Town and key cultural and natural attractions.

Morea House was designed by Scott + Partners, with interiors led by award-winning Cape Town–based designer Tristan du Plessis. Guestrooms and suites are oriented toward mountain, ocean, or beachfront perspectives, with interior schemes tailored to each view. Public spaces unfold through a series of terraces, lounges, and quieter corners, many featuring curated works by South African artists that ground the hotel in its local cultural context.

Dining is a central component of the Morea House experience, with multiple venues spread throughout the property. At street level, OMRI presents modern Lebanese cuisine shaped by South Africa’s coastal ingredients, paired with a beach-facing terrace and an all-day bar showcasing regional wines. Above, the Morea House Pool Restaurant operates as a relaxed poolside setting focused on seasonal dishes, transitioning into a sunset-oriented gathering space overlooking the Atlantic. Additional venues include The Courtyard, designed as a quite space for reading or afternoon tea, and The Wine Room, an intimate venue for private tastings and small gatherings.

Wellness programming at the property is closely tied to its environment. Guests are encouraged to engage with the outdoors through sunrise yoga, coastal walks, guided mountain hikes, and a signature cold-water immersion experience in the Atlantic. Onsite spa offerings follow a holistic approach, with treatments such as the Morea Elemental Flow massage using fynbos-infused oils, and the Morea Ocean Radiance ritual, which combines thermal bathing, bodywork, and sound therapy. Together, these offerings complement Morea House’s broader positioning within Camps Bay as a boutique, design-focused hotel.
