The Unbound Collection by Hyatt to debut in Thailand with two new properties

Updated: Aug 16

Hyatt Hotels Corporation just announced today that The Unbound Collection by Hyatt will make its debut in Thailand with two highly anticipated openings: The Barai Hua Hin and the reimagined Narai Hotel Bangkok. These additions will join Hyatt’s expanding portfolio of 15 properties across seven brands in the country, each selected for its distinctive character and sense of place.

The Barai Hua Hin, slated to open in late 2026, will rise next door to the beachfront Hyatt Regency Hua Hin. The property will extend the legacy of the award-winning Barai spa—an icon of Thai wellness designed by renowned master architect Lek Bunnag, offering 18 treatment rooms, eight residential spa suites, and therapies rooted in earth, water, wind, and fire.

Guests will find 90 rooms and suites, a dedicated wellness center, a central pool oasis, lush gardens, and dining at the historic McFarland House and The White House. Located three hours from Bangkok, Hua Hin is celebrated for its long beaches, royal heritage, and relaxed coastal charm.

In Bangkok, the Narai Hotel will make its return in 2028 as part of Hatai, a landmark mixed-use development by Heatherwick Studio—its first project in Thailand. Inspired by the warm glow of traditional Thai lanterns, Hatai will house both the Narai Hotel and Six Senses Bangkok, alongside 56,000 square feet of public space including a green canopied plaza, restored canal, elevated walkways, and gathering spaces such as a shrine, open-air market, and event venues. Designed to achieve LEED and WELL Gold certification, the project blends heritage and contemporary design with a strong sustainability focus.

“This marks an exciting chapter in our brand growth in the country and the Asia Pacific region. It underscores our commitment to delivering unique luxury experiences that today's travelers increasingly seek.” - said David Udell, group president, Asia Pacific, Hyatt.

The 250-room Narai Hotel will offer an all-day dining restaurant, rooftop dining, a lounge, pool, fitness center, and versatile event spaces. Located near Chong Nonsi BTS station and the Chao Phraya River, it will provide seamless access to Bangkok’s business, diplomatic, and cultural districts—anchoring a design-forward hospitality destination in the heart of Silom.
