Uber launches new elite service across Manhattan, L.A, and San Francisco

Uber has officially unveiled a new tier of luxury travel, and it’s positioning itself to compete directly with the highest-end chauffeur services in the world.

Introducing Uber Elite—a newly launched premium ride experience designed for executives, frequent travelers, and riders seeking a more refined, seamless way to move through major global cities. While the initial rollout begins as an invite-only offering in Los Angeles and San Francisco, a highly anticipated expansion into New York City signals where this product is expected to make its biggest impact.

At its core, Uber Elite introduces a fundamentally upgraded standard of service. Every trip is operated by commercially licensed professional chauffeurs and features new-model luxury vehicles—each less than three years old—bringing a level of consistency and polish typically reserved for private car services.

One of the most notable features is the debut of the in-app airport Meet & Greet service. Riders can now select an in-terminal pickup, where their chauffeur meets them directly at baggage claim. Inside the vehicle, the experience continues with curated amenities including phone chargers, bottled water, mints, and hand-sanitizing towelettes. Riders can also submit special requests in advance, from preferred beverages to celebratory add-ons.

Uber Elite includes dedicated 24/7 phone support from the moment a trip is booked, along with the ability to directly contact the chauffeur ahead of pickup.

At launch, access remains limited, with invitations extended to frequent Uber Black users and Uber for Business clients, alongside a waitlist for broader entry. But the roadmap is clear: Uber Elite is being built as a global product, with additional U.S. and international markets expected to follow.
