Waldorf Astoria has officially made its Nordic debut with the opening of Waldorf Astoria Helsinki, introducing the brand’s first luxury property in Finland’s capital. Set within four carefully preserved historic buildings in the Kruununhaka district, the hotel brings Waldorf Astoria’s legacy of personalized service to one of Helsinki’s most architecturally significant neighborhoods.

The property highlights 116 rooms, including 32 suites, housed within buildings originally designed by Finnish architects Evert Lagerspetz and Armas Siitonen. Interiors pair handcrafted furnishings and earthy tones with a contemporary palette influenced by Helsinki’s design heritage. Several suites include in-room saunas and steam rooms, while select accommodations extend outdoors with private terraces and jacuzzis. Attic-level duplex suites showcase original wooden beams preserved by the Finnish Heritage Agency.
Dining spans three on-site venues, led by the Peacock Bar, a modern interpretation of the brand’s historic Peacock Alley at Waldorf Astoria New York. Lilja Dining Room hosts daily breakfast and afternoon tea on Saturdays, while Lilja Terrace introduces French-influenced cuisine within a seasonally glass-enclosed patio overlooking the courtyard.
Wellness centers around the Waldorf Astoria Spa, set beneath a glass-roofed atrium that brings natural light into the spa lounge. Facilities include a Finnish sauna and cold-plunge, a steam room, four treatment rooms, jacuzzi pools, and a fully equipped fitness center with a dedicated studio.
Guests are supported by a dedicated Personal Concierge throughout their stay, a hallmark of the Waldorf Astoria brand. Event spaces include multiple meeting rooms and a ballroom featuring parquet floors and full-length antique mirrors for private and formal occasions.

The hotel is owned by M&L Group and operated by Hilton under the Waldorf Astoria brand. The opening marks the brand’s entry into the Nordic market as part of its ongoing global expansion.
