Washington D.C.’s acclaimed Karma Modern Indian brings Michelin dining to Amrit Ocean Resort

AYRE by Karma is making its Florida debut today, December 3, at Amrit Ocean Resort, introducing one of Washington, D.C.’s most celebrated modern Indian concepts to Singer Island’s oceanfront. Led by Chef Asif R. Syed—a James Beard House–featured talent and Food Network champion—the new restaurant marks a major addition to South Florida’s luxury dining scene.

As the first Florida outpost of the Michelin Bib Gourmand–recognized Karma Modern Indian, AYRE brings the restaurant’s globally minded, diplomat-frequented reputation to Amrit’s wellness-driven setting. Guests can expect a culinary experience shaped by Ayurvedic inspiration, vibrant spices, and progressive techniques, all framed by sweeping Atlantic Ocean views.

AYRE’s menu blends seasonal South Florida produce with modern Indian artistry, offering à la carte selections alongside three-, five-, and seven-course tasting menus. Signature dishes from the D.C. flagship—including Lobster Masala and Chickpeas & Goat Cheese Naan—appear alongside new coastal interpretations like Tellicherry Pepper Crab, Coconut Avocado Tikki, Grilled Branzino, and Amritsari Snapper. Optional wine pairings highlight standout bottles from Burgundy, Tuscany, Barolo, and the Loire Valley.

The restaurant’s design embraces Amrit’s oceanfront aesthetic, featuring an open studio kitchen, live-fire and tandoor elements, and an elevated terrace overlooking the water. Eighty seats span indoor and alfresco dining, complemented by an outdoor lounge offering craft cocktails and light bites.

Chef Asif Syed brings national acclaim to the Palm Beaches, known for defeating Bobby Flay, appearing on Guy’s Grocery Games and Cutthroat Kitchen, and cooking at the White House and the Vice President’s residence for state dinners.

AYRE by Karma will open Sundays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 5–9 p.m., and Fridays and Saturdays from 5–10 p.m., at Amrit Ocean Resort, 3100 N. Ocean Drive, Riviera Beach.
