Westgate reopens Smoky Mountain Resort after major expansion

Westgate Smoky Mountain Resort has just debuted its massive expansion, bringing a new mountaintop lodge and bringing the Gatlinburg property to nearly 1,400 rooms — sitting adjacent to Great Smoky Mountains National Park, which attracts more than 12 million visitors annually.

The new lodge introduces studio villas accommodating up to four guests as well as five-bedroom villas that sleep up to 12. The design features a refined rustic-modern concept with layered materials, destination-inspired artwork, and floor-to-ceiling sliding doors overlooking the Smoky Mountain range.

Amenities at the resort include the climate-controlled Wild Bear Falls Water Park, multiple heated outdoor pools and hot tubs with mountain views, the full-service Serenity Spa and fitness center, seasonal activities, and on-site dining including Southern Comfort Restaurant.

The opening is part of a broader growth push by Westgate Resorts, which in the past year announced a partnership with Choice Hotels and launched a new timeshare brand, VI Resorts by Westgate.
