About the project

Bally's Bronx is a roughly $4 billion, three-million-square-foot casino and hotel resort planned across 17 acres at Ferry Point in the Throggs Neck section of the Bronx, on the East River waterfront beneath the Whitestone and Throgs Neck bridges. Designed by HKS with interiors by Gensler, the complex steps up and down in height along gently curving volumes that follow the shoreline, and meets the adjoining golf course at a glazed terrace so the fairways read as part of the interior. The program pairs a 507-room hotel with a 3,500-machine gaming floor, a 2,000-seat event center, a nightclub, a spa, ten food and beverage venues and four retail shops, above two parking structures. Anchoring the site is the Jack Nicklaus-designed championship links course and a new clubhouse, giving the resort a rare pairing of waterfront golf and full-scale entertainment inside New York City limits, on a former landfill remediated into parkland.
