Snøhetta's Beijing Art Museum radiates outward from a central core into petal-shaped gallery volumes, a sculptural massing that frames views of the surrounding Tongzhou district while responding to the metro line running beneath the site. A large circular atrium anchors the plan, drawing visitors inward and organising a spiralling sequence of galleries, storage, and support spaces around it. Lens-like, rippled glass façades wrap the exterior, softening the edge between architecture and landscape and forming an accessible public realm at the museum's base. Conceived as a multidisciplinary institution spanning fine art, intangible cultural heritage, fashion design, and contemporary practice, it is one of the largest cultural buildings in the capital's eastern sub-center and Snøhetta's second major cultural commission in the city.
