About the project

Etihad Park is a privately financed, roughly $780 million stadium at 126-87 Willets Point Boulevard in Willets Point, Queens, designed by HOK as the first soccer-specific stadium in New York City history. It is the permanent home of New York City FC of Major League Soccer and will also host Gotham FC of the National Women's Soccer League, which signed a five-year lease with options to extend to 15 years, a dedicated locker room and matchday digital rebranding of the venue. The 25,000-seat bowl is wrapped by a seven-story entry volume the club calls the Cube, faced with more than 11,000 square feet of LED screens, and is topped by a solar canopy that makes it the first fully electric stadium in Major League Soccer and the first fully electric professional sports venue in the city. Inside are a 40,000-square-foot food hall, a dedicated supporters entrance with roughly 3,400 safe-standing positions, and a rooftop Supporters Porch bar. The stadium anchors the wider Willets Point transformation led by New York City FC with Related Companies and Sterling Equities, a 23-acre redevelopment that also brings housing, a public school, a hotel and more than 150,000 square feet of public open space to a district long given over to auto shops and parking. It sits within walking distance of Citi Field, the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center and the Mets-Willets Point subway and Long Island Rail Road stations.
