Fairmont Chania Resort

Fairmont Chania Resort is a beachfront luxury resort planned for the coastal city of Chania on the northwest coast of Crete, developed by the Cretan family-owned Hersonissos Group Hotels and operated by Accor's Fairmont Hotels & Resorts as the brand's first property in Greece. The 104-key resort includes 40 suites, among them stone suites with private pools set among olive trees, alongside terraced gardens with cascading water features and a vaulted pavilion. Architecture is by Luciano Mazza, interiors by Inge Moore and landscape by Phil Jaffa, with design cues drawn from Chania's Venetian past, its naval tradition and the work of Carlo Scarpa. Plans call for multiple dining concepts including a specialty restaurant, a 900-square-meter wellness center with six treatment rooms, a beach club on a wide sandy beach, kids and teens clubs, a group pool and an on-site chapel. Opening is scheduled for 2029.
