Mira Mar Residences is a luxury condominium landmark on Palm Avenue in downtown Sarasota, Florida, built around the restoration of the century-old Mira Mar, one of the city's most recognizable historic buildings. Developed by Sarasota-based Seaward Development with the Mira Mar Acquisition Company, the project rises as twin 18-story towers holding a limited collection of roughly 70 estate-style residences, priced from the high $3 millions, behind the preserved historic facades and storefronts of the original Mira Mar Plaza. REG Architects and Nichols Architects lead the design, pairing the restored 1920s Mediterranean Revival street wall with a contemporary tower expression, while Suffolk Construction, the general contractor behind the billion-dollar Waldorf Astoria New York restoration, manages the rehabilitation and new construction. Residences are laid out as full-floor and half-floor estates with private elevator entries and deep terraces framing Sarasota Bay, and the amenity program includes a 19th-floor sky lounge and a resort-style pool deck overlooking the bayfront. The project sits steps from Main Street, St. Armands Circle access and the Sarasota Bayfront, anchoring the downtown Sarasota renaissance around a building the city has known for more than a hundred years.
