Why Sarasota

A bayfront rebuild and a record airport

Sarasota County has grown to 479,958 residents, up 10.6% since 2020, and in 2025 it still gained about 6,000 more people from elsewhere in the U.S. than it lost. The city of Sarasota reached 58,458, up 1.2% in a year. Sarasota Bradenton International Airport set a record with 4.5 million passengers in 2025, the year a new five-gate terminal opened for Allegiant.

Downtown, the 52-acre The Bay park is raising and rebuilding the bayfront, with a new performing arts center, last estimated at $200 million, still in planning. Some firms have come too, like family office Nickolas, which moved its headquarters from Findlay, Ohio, to South Palm Avenue. Florida has no state income tax.
