The Nanhai Art Center is a waterfront cultural complex in the Nanhai Cultural District of Foshan, China, at the heart of the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area. Designed by MAD Architects, it gathers a grand theater, a museum, and a sports center beneath a single porous, floating ETFE canopy conceived as a continuous wave of water. The translucent membrane roof integrates photovoltaic generation, rainwater harvesting, and vertical greenery while lifting the buildings to open a public gateway to the lakefront below, positioning the center as a new social and creative anchor for southern Guangdong.
