New Murabba

New Murabba is a roughly $50 billion downtown district rising across some 19 square kilometres of northwest Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, at the intersection of King Salman and King Khalid roads. Developed by the Public Investment Fund's New Murabba Development Company with masterplanning by AECOM, the mixed-use district is planned around 18 walkable neighbourhoods with around 104,000 residences, some 9,000 hotel rooms, offices, retail, a museum, a technology and design university, an immersive theatre and extensive green public realm. Its signature landmark is the Mukaab, a 400-metre cube conceived as one of the world's largest built structures, wrapping around two million square metres of retail, residential, hotel and digital-experience space around a vast interior atrium. The district will also host the 45,000-seat New Murabba Stadium, designed by Arup as a FIFA World Cup 2034 venue, and a 200-bed general hospital developed with Almana Medical Group, anchoring a car-lite urban quarter aligned with Saudi Vision 2030.
