About the project

Set on the site of the former Melreese Country Club golf course adjacent to Miami International Airport, Nu Stadium at Miami Freedom Park serves as Inter Miami CF's permanent home — the club David Beckham co-founded and Lionel Messi made global. MANICA leads design with Arquitectonica as architect of record (and master planner of the 131-acre Freedom Park district); Thornton Tomasetti structural. The 26,700-seat bowl is single-tiered with a glazed-edge white membrane roof that extends past the seating to cover an elevated concourse — the largest canopy in MLS. Pink-accented seating, a glass players' tunnel viewable from the premium Nu Club, retractable lower north stand, two large curved video boards above the goals, and a Leo Messi Stand on the east side. Brazilian digital bank Nubank acquired naming rights. Cost ~$350M; construction 2023-2026; first MLS match April 4, 2026 vs. Austin FC. Future Freedom Park phases add a 58-acre public park, hotels, retail and entertainment.
