Orient Express Venezia brings the legendary travel name back to the city where its storied route to Constantinople once began, inside Palazzo Dona Giovannelli in Cannaregio, one of Venice's most authentic and least-touristed districts. Built in 1436 during the era of Filippo Calendario, the architect behind the Doge's Palace, the palazzo served for centuries as the residence of the Dona and Giovannelli families, celebrated patrons of the arts, before passing to the Duke of Urbino. Architect and interior designer Aline Asmar d'Amman led its restoration, preserving original mosaic floors, frescoes, and heritage detail while layering in theatrical, contemporary interiors. The hotel opens with 47 guest rooms, suites, and apartments, among them six Signature Suites on the piano nobile and two Orient Express Apartments, many overlooking the confluence of two canals. A fine-dining restaurant guided by Michelin-decorated chef Heinz Beck, a courtyard garden, a spa, and grand public salons complete a debut that marks Orient Express's return to Venice as a permanent address. Coordinates are approximate pending confirmation of the palazzo's exact parcel.
