Wellmar is the first hotel in Downtown Wellen, the lakeside town center of the Wellen Park master-planned community in south Sarasota County, and part of Marriott's Tribute Portfolio.

Designed by DLW Architects with interiors by The Society, the five-story building pairs white volumes with warm wood-toned balconies and fins, and wraps a ground-floor lobby bar that opens to a resort-style pool deck and a café bar shared with the community. A rooftop restaurant and bar crowns the building, and about 3,500 square feet of meeting and event space, including a banquet venue and bridal suite, makes it a base for weddings and gatherings. Allyson Group will own and operate the 149-room hotel.
