Recess Hotel and Club

Recess Hotel and Club occupies the 1912 Manger Building at 7 East Congress Street in Savannah's Historic District, the Beaux-Arts pile that opened as the Hotel Savannah. Left Lane, the developer behind Hotel Bardo down the street, is turning it back into a hotel with 221 keys, an unusual mix of 136 rooms, 23 suites and 62 bunk rooms aimed at groups. Atelier Pond leads the interiors. Dining runs through Le Flaneur, a French brasserie, and the Servery, with Kilter on the roof beside what the developer bills as Savannah's tallest rooftop pool. Below, the Saltgrass spa runs a bathhouse circuit, and Club Recess fills 5,500 square feet as a members' clubhouse, with Rumpus Rooms on each guest floor and a two-story event hall of 6,500 square feet. The hotel joins the Leading Hotels of the World.
