About the project

Set within The Whiteley — the Foster + Partners-led restoration of the 1911 grade II*-listed Whiteley's department store on Queensway in Bayswater — Six Senses London is the brand's first UK property and its global wellness flagship. EPR Architects serves as hotel architect with AvroKO leading interior design, contributing a restrained palette of warm woods, parquet flooring and Art Deco references that wrap 109 rooms and suites, 14 one- and two-bedroom branded residences, and the brand's first urban Six Senses Place social-wellness club. Amenities include a 20-meter pool, 24-hour gym, screening room, co-working lounges, a beauty studio, multiple dining rooms and a spa featuring sound healing, biohacking and longevity programming. The building's reborn marble grand staircase — deconstructed, lengthened and rebuilt by hand in Devon by Foster + Partners — ascends three floors to a restored glass-domed atrium. Six Senses London is part of the wider 1-million-square-foot Whiteley mixed-use district led by Valouran with MARK and C C Land, which also includes 139 Foster + Partners-designed residences, 60,000 sq ft of amenities and a curated collection of 19 commercial brands.
