Europe's AI hub, centered on King's Cross

London drew 279 foreign investment projects in 2025, more than any region in Europe, and it was Europe's top city for tech investment with more than twice the projects of Paris. AI is the new anchor: OpenAI picked London for its first international office, Microsoft opened a Microsoft AI hub in Paddington, Anthropic leased 158,000 sq ft at Regent's Place, and Google is moving about 7,000 staff, DeepMind included, into its King's Cross headquarters.

The big names keep choosing the city too. Shell shareholders voted to move its headquarters here from The Hague, and Revolut took 113,000 sq ft at YY London in Canary Wharf for its global headquarters. The Elizabeth line is now the UK's busiest single-operator rail service, Heathrow handled a record 84.5 million passengers in 2025, and the government backed a third runway in January 2025.
