The TGH Taneja Surgical, Neuroscience and Transplant Tower is a roughly 565,000-square-foot medical pavilion rising beside Tampa General Hospital's academic medical center on Davis Islands, and the largest single building in the hospital's history. Structured as a plaza level plus twelve floors, it consolidates Tampa General's surgery, neuroscience, and transplant service lines into one purpose-built home with 144 patient beds, 32 operating suites, and substantially expanded intensive-care capacity. The clinical program is built around advanced surgical technology, including an intraoperative MRI suite delivering real-time high-resolution imaging mid-procedure and robotics-ready operating environments, alongside dedicated education and training space for USF Health Morsani College of Medicine. A sterile processing department sized to serve the entire campus, a central energy plant for uninterrupted operations, a cafe, and two shelled floors held for future patient rooms round out the building, which connects to the existing hospital by a two-story pedestrian bridge. Backed by a landmark gift from the Taneja Family Foundation, the tower is a cornerstone of the emerging Tampa Medical and Research District.
