About the project

Zamara Private sits in the Koyaki area on the northern edge of the Maasai Mara National Reserve, the newest and most private address in the Great Plains portfolio built by National Geographic filmmakers Dereck and Beverly Joubert. Booked only as a whole house, it holds six suites, two masters and four stand-alone guest suites, sleeping up to twelve adults. Grass-planted roofs sink the building into the grassland rather than perching on it, and the plan gathers around a long infinity pool, a fireplace lounge and a rooftop terrace. A wellness centre carries a gym, sauna and steam room alongside a spa and a wine room, and the residence sits in the brand's Reserve Collection, its highest tier. Access runs through the ol Kiombo airstrip or a charter from Nairobi Wilson.
