About the project

The first Florida residential project by Pritzker Prize–winning architect Shigeru Ban, House occupies nearly an entire city block in Miami's Upper Buena Vista, minutes from the Design District and Wynwood. The 12-story building holds roughly 320 residences and about 50,000 square feet of commercial space, conceived around biophilic principles that fold nature into the architecture — wood tree-columns, water walls, generous terraces, elevated planters, and a dynamic interplay of concrete, wood, and glass. Its mass is broken into smaller stacked "boxes" that step in and out and alternate wood and glass, giving each home its own distinct expression rather than a repetitive tower facade. A three-level podium incorporates screened parking, retail, food and beverage venues, and lifestyle amenities including a fitness center and padel courts, topped by a lushly landscaped courtyard with gardens that transitions to the residential levels above, with a rooftop pool deck, event spaces, shared kitchens, and children's rooms. Italian design group Dexelance serves as exclusive partner across interiors, lighting, kitchens, and residential amenities.
