Miami International Airport (Expansion)

The Miami International Airport expansion is a roughly $1 billion extension of Concourse D, known as the Gate D60 project, developed by the Miami-Dade Aviation Department with American Airlines at the carrier's largest international gateway. The three-level build adds 17 contact gates sized for regional jets and narrow-body aircraft, each with its own hold room to ease boarding and reduce congestion, plus a second passenger level with sterile corridors, restrooms and roughly 30,800 square feet of new concessions. A third-level connection links arriving international passengers directly to the Concourse D U.S. Customs and Border Protection facility, and the program includes an upgraded baggage system and bus operations for international passengers. Delivered through a design-build contract at MIA's North Terminal, it anchors the county's broader $9 billion Modernization in Action capital program, which is reshaping passenger capacity and international connectivity at one of the busiest airports in the United States.
