The Red Sea EDITION brings Ian Schrager and Marriott's design-led brand to the southern shore of Shura Island inside Foster + Partners' Coral Bloom masterplan. Low pavilions with sweeping, coral-like timber roofs open onto about a kilometre of private beach, and interiors credited to Rockwell Group lean on rammed earth, natural oak, coral stone and woven textiles. The 240 rooms and suites are joined by JIWA Beach Club, the Aegean-inspired ANASA restaurant led by Saudi chef Basma Elkhereiji, a spa with hot and cold plunge pools, and more than 1,000 square metres of event space including a ballroom for up to 500 guests. Like the rest of the island it runs on solar power.
