Burswood Point is a 38-hectare urban renewal district on the eastern bank of Perth's Swan River, roughly 3.5 kilometres from the CBD, developed by Golden Sedayu on the site of the former Belmont Park Racecourse. Masterplanned by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill with landscape design by Grant Associates, the $3.8 billion precinct is organised as a walkable neighbourhood of 15 buildings holding approximately 4,500 homes, hotels, retail and dining, all threaded onto a pedestrian-focused retail boulevard that runs down to the water. More than 110,000 square metres of parkland and a 2.5-kilometre public foreshore form the district's spine, with water-sensitive urban design and reimagined estuarine landscapes drawn from the Swan River's original ecology. The precinct delivers in phases over more than a decade, led by the Somerset residential towers and anchored in the longer term by Australia's first Anantara hotel. Amenity across the district runs to riverfront pools, residents' clubs, wellness facilities and a dining boulevard intended to work day and night.
