Perth Hub is Far East Consortium's mixed-use development on Wellington Street in the Perth central business district, rising beside Yagan Square on land opened up by the sinking of the rail line through Perth City Link. Designed by Cottee Parker, the roughly A$1.4 billion project is composed as two towers of 32 and 23 storeys, combining 314 apartments with a 263-room Dorsett hotel above an active ground plane of retail, dining and public space. Its position stitches together parts of the city long separated by rail infrastructure, sitting within a short walk of the Perth Underground and Perth stations, the Perth Arena, the Northbridge entertainment quarter and the Murray and Hay Street retail spines. The Hong Kong-listed developer is behind several of Australia's larger urban hospitality-and-residential projects, including Queen's Wharf Brisbane and West Side Place in Melbourne, and Perth Hub applies the same template of pairing branded hotel keys with apartments over a retail podium to add residential density and visitor accommodation to a stretch of the CBD that has historically emptied out after business hours.
