Chapter SLC

A joint venture between Chicago-based CRG and Centerville-based Cole West, the project extends CRG's national Chapter student housing brand into one of the fastest-growing flagship university markets in the country. Lamar Johnson Collaborative designed the six-story building as five levels of residential wood frame over two and a half concrete parking levels holding roughly 170 stalls, with ground-floor commercial space activating the street. The unit mix runs from studios and one-bedrooms to two- and four-bedroom shared residences, and the amenity program leans hard into Utah student life with a rooftop pool, ski simulator, Pilates studio, soda shop, library and a jumbotron lounge. The site is a transit-oriented development in the truest sense, sitting directly across from the UTA TRAX 900 East and 400 South light rail station, putting the University of Utah campus one stop or a ten-minute walk away and letting the project trade structured parking for transit access. Headwaters Construction is the general contractor.
