The Hotel Bossert is a 14-story Renaissance Revival landmark at 98 Montague Street in Brooklyn Heights, built in 1909 by Helmle and Huberty for the Brooklyn lumber magnate Louis Bossert and long known for its Marine Roof, the rooftop dining room that looked across the harbor to Lower Manhattan. The Brooklyn Dodgers celebrated their 1955 World Series title inside it, and the Jehovah's Witnesses owned the building from 1988 to 2012. SomeraRoad bought the roughly 187,200-square-foot property for $100 million in 2025 and is converting it into 61 condominiums, weighted toward three- and four-bedroom homes, with a 3,200-square-foot ground-floor restaurant from Danny Meyer's Union Square Hospitality Group. SLCE Architects is leading the conversion, which demolishes the non-historic rooftop additions, rebuilds the 13th floor, reconfigures the 14th and adds a limestone-clad 15th floor set back from the landmarked facade, infills the building's light courts with loggias and opens a long-blind arch on Remsen Street as a new window. Delivery is targeted for 2028.
