The Lido at Sand Valley is a meticulous re-creation of one of golf's great vanished courses, the original Lido Golf Club that C.B. Macdonald and Seth Raynor built on Long Island before it was lost to a wartime naval base. Working from a detailed digital model reconstructed out of archival photographs and plans, Tom Doak and his Renaissance Golf Design team rebuilt the Lido down to the inch on a sand parcel at the Nekoosa resort, shaping every template hole, plateau, and hazard to match the celebrated lost design. Playing across bold, geometric bunkering and famous template holes such as Alps, Channel, Cape, and Home, the walking-only course restores the strategic drama and heroic carries that made the original a legend, letting modern golfers experience a course few living players ever saw. Firm, windswept, and demanding, it stands as both a faithful homage and a genuinely thrilling championship test.
