280 Kent Avenue fills the full block bounded by South 1st Street, South 2nd Street, Kent Avenue and River Street on the Williamsburg waterfront in Brooklyn, the fifth site in Two Trees' Domino Sugar masterplan and labeled Building B in the plan. Designed by REX, the project pairs two 50-story residential towers, each 591 feet tall, that will surpass the 550-foot taller tower at One Domino Square as the tallest buildings in the neighborhood. The roughly 1.17-million-square-foot development holds 1,262 apartments, with 25 percent of the homes set aside as affordable housing, plus 12,230 square feet of commercial space and an enclosed parking garage. The towers wear floor-to-ceiling glass with wraparound balconies cut by elliptical openings, giving every unit private outdoor space, and wavy glass railings that echo the undulating glass curtain wall of the podium floors. The north tower has risen to roughly two-thirds of its height and is being enclosed in glass, while the south tower stands a few floors above street level. The site is served by the Bedford Avenue L station and the Marcy Avenue J, M and Z station.
