55 Broadway is the Grade I-listed Art Deco former headquarters of London Underground and Transport for London, designed by Charles Holden above St James's Park station in Westminster, and one of the most significant pieces of interwar architecture in London. Blue Orchid Hotels, part of Integrity International Group, acquired a long lease on the complex from TfL for about 120 million pounds, including neighbouring 100 Petty France and Wing Over Station, and holds Westminster City Council consent to convert it into a luxury hotel of roughly 500 rooms designed by EPR Architects. The plan places premium rooms in the cruciform tower with smaller rooms in the adjoining buildings, and adds a ground-floor restaurant, bars, event and meeting space, a gym and a spa, while preserving the building's protected fabric, including its Jacob Epstein and Henry Moore sculpture.
