Richmond Square is a $330 million mixed-use precinct by Fortis at 1-5 Wiltshire Street in Richmond, in Melbourne's inner east, one row back from Swan Street and a short walk from East Richmond Station. Conceived as a residential neighbourhood underwritten by hospitality rather than a single tower, it pairs two buildings designed by SJB with interiors by Hecker Guthrie: Wiltshire House, whose ground level and first two floors are clad in glazed green tiles inspired by Richmond's corner pubs and milk bars, and Carmine House, which draws on the suburb's red brick warehouses. Together they hold 107 residences, and a 57-key premium boutique hotel, approved in place of an earlier office scheme, is integrated into Carmine House so residents can call on housekeeping, laundry, in-residence dining and concierge services. The ground plane is programmed with laneway restaurants, wellness and lifestyle offerings for residents and the wider neighbourhood, with rooftop gardens above. The precinct is being built by Hacer Group.
