The Rendon is an 11-story boutique hotel planned at 2057 East Seventh Street in the Los Angeles Arts District, the warehouse quarter east of Downtown that has become the city's densest concentration of galleries, chef-driven restaurants and creative studios. Developed by Galaxy Commercial Holdings with architecture by Solomon Cordwell Buenz, the revised scheme clears the full site, including a 1914 residential hotel building that stood on the parcel, and replaces it with a single new tower holding 123 guest rooms above 12,855 square feet of commercial space. That ground-floor program is written for the neighborhood rather than the tourist trade, combining an art gallery, a cafe, a restaurant and a bar arranged to activate the Seventh Street frontage. The massing steps back above a masonry-scaled base so the building meets the low-rise industrial fabric around it before rising to its full height, with guest floors oriented toward the Downtown skyline to the west and the Los Angeles River to the east.
