Bankside Yards

Bankside Yards is a 5.5 acre riverside neighbourhood on London's South Bank, set between Tate Modern and Blackfriars Bridge in Bankside. Developed by Native Land with Amcorp Properties, Hotel Properties Limited and Temasek, the 1.4 million sq ft masterplan comprises nine buildings arranged around fourteen restored Victorian railway arches, and is billed as the UK's first major mixed-use development to operate entirely without fossil fuels. PLP Architecture, Make Architects, Allies and Morrison and Stiff + Trevillion have each designed buildings across the Western and Eastern Yards, with landscape design by Gillespies. At its centre stands Opus, a 50 storey, 170 metre residential tower of 249 apartments that ranks among the tallest homes in prime central London, joined by the Arbor workspace building, a Mandarin Oriental hotel and branded residences, shops, restaurants and new public routes down to the river.
