About the project

Castlereagh Place is a $3.5 billion mixed-use precinct by Billbergia Group and Metrics Credit Partners on the largest amalgamated land parcel in the Sydney CBD, a roughly 6,000 square metre midtown block fronting Castlereagh, Pitt and Liverpool streets near Hyde Park. Designed by fjcstudio (formerly FJMT) with Trias Studio, Aileen Sage and Polly Harbison Design, joint winners of an international design competition, the scheme rises as two 82-storey residential towers holding 607 apartments, from one-bedroom homes to more than 290 three-plus-bedroom residences. The towers sit above an eight-level podium housing a 209-room luxury hotel and retail, broken into separate buildings so the street frontages read as fine-grained city rather than a single block. At ground level a 1,000 square metre civic park with food, beverage and retail opens new pedestrian links through the block, while a three-level flagship building anchors the corner of Pitt and Liverpool streets. Residents get a private club with gym, rooftop pool, dining rooms, co-working, library, golf simulator, cinema and concierge, plus a wellness centre with bathhouse. The project replaces the existing buildings on the site, whose demolition is underway.
